Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician
Jennifer Wilder is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™ whose work is rooted in the belief that building a life worth living is a brave and worthy pursuit. With both compassion and concrete tools, she guides adults, adolescents, parents, families, and groups as they navigate complex emotions, challenges, and relationships.
Jennifer earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and has helped lead teams delivering comprehensive DBT in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs. She is a Certified Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP) therapist—trained at the University of Pennsylvania—and has developed expertise in delivering this evidence-based treatment for OCD within the context of DBT. Jennifer completed a fellowship in Contextually-Focused DBT (C-DBT) at the University of Chicago. She also provides Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) for trauma and PTSD, and is intensively trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion.
DBT is deeply meaningful to Jennifer’s own life, and in turn, her approach is grounded in both training and lived experience. She loves supporting clients’ courageous, life-changing work to balance acceptance and change, increase willingness and skills to face painful emotions, and take actions aligned with their values.
Jennifer brings cross-disciplinary professional experience catalyzing transformation in both individuals and communities. Before entering the field of psychotherapy, Jennifer served as a community organizer, pastor, conflict mediation leader, spiritual director, and advocate for high-quality, affordable mental health care. Her career has spanned hospitals (including NYU Langone), schools, universities, and community organizations—unified by a through-line of justice, transformation, hope, and the power of human connection.
Outside of sessions, Jennifer recharges by running, hiking, swimming, and gardening. She loves exploring near and far with her family and friends and unwinds with historical fiction and mystery novels.
