Jessie Detrick, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Jessica Detrick (she/her) earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University, where she focused her studies on the assessment and treatment of severe emotion dysregulation with challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, self-injury, property destruction, suicide). Jessica completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI). Jessica regularly presents and publishes work regarding the assessment and treatments of severe challenging behavior.
Jessica works with adults, teenagers, and children and has significant training in working with individuals presenting as neurotypically developing and/or individuals with complex/multiple diagnostic presentations. Jessica’s approach to therapy includes being as genuine as possible. This often includes being clear and straightforward with understanding and softness, along with occasional sarcasm, to build and maintain relationships. Jessica focuses on helping clients achieve goals that make an observable and measurable difference in the quality of their lives.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys going solo car-camping and creating art – primarily crocheting, sewing, drawing, painting, and sometimes whittling little, tiny figurines. Jessica also owns over 25 house plants and obsesses over each and every one of them.
