Sulivette Nater-Hernandez, Psy.D.

Sulivette Nater-Hernandez received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico. Dr. Nater completed her pre-doctoral Internship at ROVICO Healthcare Administrative and Consulting Services where she provided group and individual therapy serving people of all ages and psychological needs.

Throughout her career, Sulivette has traveled and trained in different areas of clinical work. She has had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient, day programs, hospice care, non-public school, and correctional settings. She has provided psychological assessments, worked with families of children with autism spectrum disorders, and taught as an adjunct professor in psychology at Miami Dade College in Florida. She has additionally completed advanced training in health psychology, crisis intervention, and cultural awareness.

Before joining The Bethesda Group, she was trained in DBT by Shari Manning, Ph.D. and worked and continued training at the Sheppard Pratt Comprehensive Outpatient DBT Program where she conducted individual therapy and co-led DBT groups.

Sulivette’s approach to psychotherapy is centered on working collaboratively with her clients to find a balance between acceptance and change. Her focus is to provide a non-judgmental and compassionate space to build trust and mutual respect to help facilitate working on topics that involve daily life management skills, including those related to past trauma. Sulivette is bilingual and can conduct psychotherapy in both English and Spanish.

In her free time, Sulivette enjoys traveling to warm places and enjoying the beach. She loves spending time with her family and cooking recipes from different countries.
